HEALTH minister Kalumbi Shangula has announced that Windhoek reported its first Covid-19 related death on Thursday. The death is of a 41-year-old man and it brings the total Covid-19 deaths in the country to 10.
Meanwhile Namibia has recorded 66 new positive cases. Shangula said Walvis Bay reported 47, Windhoek 14, and Swakopmund five cases. Contact tracing has been initiated, Shangula said.
Most of the Windhoek cases have no travel history nor do they have known contacts with a positive cases. One of the Windhoek cases is a taxi driver.
Namibia on Thursday had a record number of 60 recoveries with 58 being from Walvis Bay and the rest from Oshakati, Shangula noted.
Namibia now has 2 052 confirmed cases with 1 878 active cases.
