Namibia has recorded another two deaths linked to the novel coronavirus, 201 new infections with the virus, and the recovery of 19 people who contracted the virus.

Health and social services minister Kalumbi Shangula on Wednesday said 158 of the new coronavirus cases are from Windhoek, which is now the epicentre of the virus outbreak in Namibia.

Walvis Bay has reported 17 new cases, Swakopmund 11, Oshakati seven, Otjiwarongo, Rehoboth and Katima Mulilo two each, and Okahandja and Okakarara one each.

The 19 recoveries are all from the Khomas region, while the two latest deaths are from Windhoek and Gobabis.

Namibia has now recorded 4 665 confirmed novel coronavirus infections, with 2 426 recoveries, 2 200 active cases and 39 deaths linked to Covid-19.
