THE Covid-19 tests conducted on four pupils at Swakopmund on Monday returned negative earlier today.
Heath minister Kalumbi Shangula made the announcement on NBC’s 20h00 news broadcast this evening.
Shangula said the students were tested in line with the ministry’s protocol for expanded targeting testing, which mandates that anyone who presents themself at a heath facility with respiratory ailments is tested for the virus.
“Anybody who comes to the health facility with flu-like symptoms, will be tested.
“We have been doing it before and we will continue to do it. There is nothing special about it,” he said.
Furthermore, the minister urged the public to remain calm and encouraged those in the Erongo region to comply with stage 1 regulations.
