Minister of health and social services Kalumbi Shangula says Namibia has eight new Covid-19 cases. All are Namibians from Walvis Bay. Four are males and four females. They are all in a stable condition, he said.

Case number 286 is a 28-year-old woman and a contact of a confirmed case.

Case number 287 is a 26-year-old man and also a contact of a confirmed case. He is displaying symptoms.

Case number 288 is a 13-year-old girl and a contact of a confirmed case.

Case number 289 is a 30-year-old woman and a contact of a confirmed case. She is displaying symptoms.

Case number 290 is a 43-year-old woman and a contact of a confirmed case.

Case number 291 is a 44-year-old with no contact with a confirmed case.

Case 292 is 33 with no known contacts.

Case number 293 is a male(41) with no known contact with a confirmed case.

The minister said Namibia now has 293 confirmed cases, with 24 recoveries, 269 active cases and no deaths. So far 9 661 samples have been tested and 1060 active contacts have been identified.
