HEALTH UPDATE… Namibia has recorded 22 new Covid-19 positive cases and three new coronavirus related deaths, health and social services minister Kalumbi Shangula said on Tuesday.
Shangula said all are Namibians and 16 are from Walvis Bay, five from Swakopmund and one from Windhoek. The minister said 17 are male and the rest are female. The Windhoek case is a woman who was referred from Walvis Bay.
He said the case announced yesterday from Katima Mulilo is a healthcare worker at a local clinic.
So far, Namibia has seen 15 recoveries, a new record of recoveries according to Shangula.
He said in terms of the three new deaths, two are of the patients died at Welwitschia Private Hospital, and one at a state facility. All three cases are from Walvis Bay.
Namibia now has 57 recoveries and 1 366 active cases, with a total of seven deaths.
