Namibia reports four more Covid-19 related deaths, deputy health and social services minister Utjiua Muinjangue said Monday.

Two of the deaths are from Windhoek, while Swakopmund and Walvis Bay have one each.

The deputy minister added that the country also reports 176 new positive novel coronavirus cases.

Windhoek recorded the highest cases at 126, followed by Swakopmund and Oshakati with nine each, while Onandjokwe reported eight cases followed by Mariental with seven, Walvis Bay four and Rehoboth three. Tsandi, Katima Mulilo and Engela each report two new cases, while Otjiwarongo, Grootfontein, Khorixas and Gobabis one each.

Muinjangue also announced that the country reports 54 new recoveries, with 49 of the recoveries being from Khomas, three from Zambezi and two from Ohangwena regions.

Cumulatively, Namibia’s confirmed cases stand at 6 030 with 2563 recoveries, 3411 active cases and 56 deaths.

Of the active cases, 12 of them are in severe and critical condition.
