HEALTH UPDATE … Namibia has recorded another two deaths linked to the novel coronavirus, health and social services minister Kalumbi Shangula said on Thursday.
He said the deaths are both from Windhoek, and are of a 72-year-old man and an 82-year-old woman.
This brings the country’s coronavirus death toll to 41.
Shangula said the country has also recorded 247 new coronavirus infections, with Windhoek reporting the most at 149, Walvis Bay recording 46 new infections, Oshakati 15, Swakopmund 10, Onandjokwe and Engela four each, Rundu, Katima Mulilo and Tsumeb three each, Grootfontein, Gobabis and Rehoboth two each, and Otjiwarongo, Omaruru, Okahandja and Keetmanshoop one each.
Namibia also reported 16 recoveries from an infection with the novel coronavirus on Thursday.
The country has now recorded 4 912 confirmed coronavirus cases, with 2 442 recoveries, 2 429 active cases and 41 deaths.
