NAMIBIA has recorded 77 new coronavirus infections, 51 recoveries and two deaths.
This was announced by health minister Kalumbi Shangula on Thursday afternoon.
Of these new cases, 37 are males and 40 are females, the youngest being two years and the oldest 86 years.
Windhoek recorded 50 new cases, Karasburg 6, Rehoboth and Okahandja 5 each, Oshakati 4, Omaruru 2, and Keetmanshoop, Mariental, Walvis Bay, Swakopmund and Tsumeb one each.
Khomas recorded 40 recoveries, Oshikoto 8 and Omaheke 3.
The total number of active cases now stands at 2 139. Of the active cases, 15 are in severe or critical condition.
Shangula said the two deaths are of two males – one from Windhoek and the other from Okahandja.
Cumulatively, Namibia now has 10 740 confirmed cases, 8 482 recoveries and 119 deaths.
