Covid-19 Update … Namibia has recorded 41 novel coronavirus cases with 139 new recoveries, health and social services minister Kalumbi Shangula said on Friday.

Omuthiya recorded the highest number of cases at 15, followed by Windhoek with 12, Mariental four and Karasburg two.

Rehoboth, Keetmanshoop, Oshakati and Rundu have one case each.

“All 15 cases are inmates at Omuthiya police holding cells. The Hardap cases include four inmates from Hardap Correctional facility,” the minister said.

The recoveries are from Oshana region with 44, Hardap 38, Oshikoto 22, Khomas 18, Kunene 11, Omaheke three, Karas two and Ohangwena one.

The country’s total confirmed cases stand at 12 501, with 10 748 recoveries, and 133 deaths.
