THE Minister of Health and Social Services, Kalumbi Shangula, announced on Monday that Namibia had reported 149 new Covid-19 cases, 79 recoveries and one death.
He said Windhoek recorded 75 cases, Eehnana 20, Onandjokwe and Swakopmund 10 each, Usakos 9, Otjiwarongo 7, Walvis Bay 5, Oshakati, and Rundu three each, Tsumeb two, with Omaruru, Opuwo, Gobabis and Okahandja recording one case each.
Ten more pupils have tested positive for Covid-19 at the same school at Onandjokwe where others tested positive as announced on Sunday and classes have been suspended.
The 79 new Covid-19 recoveries have brought the total number to 8 112.
This means the country now has 2 301 active cases of which 13 are in severe or critical condition in the Khomas and Erongo regions.
The death is that of a 69-year-old female in Windhoek with underlying health conditions. She died on 19 September.
The country now has a cumulative total of 10 526 Covid-19 cases with 113 deaths.
