Namibia has recorded 115 new cases of Covid-19 and 27 recoveries, Health and Social Services minister Kalumbi Shangula announced on Sunday.

The youngest case is two-months old and the oldest is 75 years.

Onandjokwe recorded the highest cases with 48, followed by Windhoek with 37, Swakopmund 13, Otjiwarongo 5 and Okahandja 3. Okakarara, Mariental and Rundu recorded three each, with Omaruru, Rehoboth and Katima Mulilo report one case each.

“Today we record a high number of 48 pupils testing positive for Covid-19 from a Senior Secondary School in Onandjokwe district, Oshikoto region. These are contacts of pupils who tested positive at the same school earlier,” he said.

From the recoveries, nine are from Hardap, eight from Khomas, six from Zambezi, three from //Kharas, and one from the Omaheke regions.

The country now has an accumulative total of 11 033 confirmed cases, 8 776 recoveries with 2 137 active cases and 120 deaths.
