Health update: Namibia has recorded 27 new Covid-19 cases, 24 recoveries and one death. Ben Nangombe, executive director of health and social services, announced this on Saturday.

Of these cases, 17 involve women and 10 men.

The youngest is five months old and the oldest is 89.

Windhoek recorded 18 new cases, Oshakati three, Walvis Bay two, and Swakopmund, Engela, Rehoboth and Lüderitz one each.

The total number of active cases in Namibia now stands at 1 432.

Of these cases, four are severely to critically ill.

The country today reported its first Covid-19-related death in 16 days.

The deceased is a 57-year-old woman from Lüderitz, with known comorbidities.

She died on 1 November.

Namibia now has 13 170 confirmed cases, 11 602 recoveries and 134 deaths.
