Namibia reported four new Covid-19 deaths and 181 new cases today.
Minister of health and social services Kalumbi Shangula says 109 of the new cases were reported in Windhoek.
Three of the four deaths reported were in Windhoek and one at Walvis Bay.
Walvis Bay reported 44 new cases, Swakopmund 13, Arandis one, Onandjokwe seven, Katima Mulilo three, Oshakati two, Outapi two, and Okahao one.
Among the Windhoek cases, four are working at the same salon, Shangula says.
“We need to take note of places where transmission is likely to be high, and avoid such places if possible. Salon workers must wear masks at all times,” he says.
The minister said of the current active cases in the country, four are critically ill – one at Walvis Bay and three in Windhoek.
Fourteen people are severely ill – one at Walvis Bay and 13 in Windhoek.
Namibia has thus far reported 3 907 confirmed cases of Covid-19, 2 352 recoveries, 1 523 active cases and 35 deaths.
