… as Nam reports fourth Covid-19 death
NAMIBIA has recorded 97 new Covid-19 cases, including a fourth death, health and social services minister Kalumbi Shangula said on Monday.
Of these cases, three are healthcare workers from Walvis Bay.
He said 90 of the cases are from Walvis Bay, three from Swakopmund, two from Engela, one from Outapi and one from Katima Mulilo. The cases in Engela came in contact with a prior confirmed case at the town.
The minister said 81 are males and the rest are female. “The oldest is 66 years. Contact tracing is ongoing,” Shangula said.
He added that Namibia has recorded seven new recoveries, and the patients have been discharged.
Namibia has also reported another Covid-19 related death at a Walvis Bay private health facility, bringing the death toll to four.
“We have 13 people who are in critical condition,” the minister said, expressing his deepest condolences to the family of the latest death.
