The philanthropic Muller used proceeds from a recent auction of his boxing gloves and photos on Facebook to help the destitute communities.

Muller told The Namibian that this time of Covid-19 is difficult for the communities he provided the food parcels and also urged companies and individuals to come on board and assist the needy communities.

One of the beneficiaries, Eli Habeb (62) who does not have an identity document and thus does not qualify for government food programmes, said with teary eyes: “Thank you very much for thinking about me.”

Unemployed Eli Philips of Fransfontein said she and her family appreciated the food parcel: “It’s very difficult these days for my boyfriend who repairs radios to put food on the table.

This food donation means a lot.” The Namibian Red Cross Society (NRCS) helped to identify the beneficiaries.

Community activist McKay Losper and NRCS volunteers helped to hand over the food while a local teacher, Kingsley !Ganeb transported the food parcels in Khorixas and Fransfontein
