DUINESIG Combined School at Walvis Bay will be closed this week after a staff member tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
“Learners and parents/guardians are therefore informed that the school will be closed for the week of 10-14 August 2020,” the school’s principal, Stanley Uri-Khob, announced in a letter on Sunday.
Uri-Khob said online learning would continue, but all other services provided by the school would be suspended for the week.
Furthermore, the school buildings will be disinfected on Monday.
Students in grades 11 and 12 are expected to resume classes on Monday next week (17 August).
“Please note that this is part of the standard operating procedures, and all parties are urged to remain calm and continue practising the necessary Covid-19 safety protocols,” Uri-Khob stated.
“This too shall pass. Duinesig will prevail,” he wrote.
