The Roads Authority has announced that its Natis offices will stay open countrywide while stage 3 of the Covid-19 state of emergency is in force.
Services will, however, be limited and there will be reduced staff, to comply with Covid-19 preventative measures.
“We wish to appeal to clients to visit our offices for urgent Natis services only to avoid long queues and congestion,” Roads Authority spokesperson Hileni Filemon said in a statement.
She added that the transport regulations permits office in Windhoek would also continue to operate.
Filemon also said applications for learners driving licences at Natis offices would be suspended until the end of August.
The Roads Authority is also urging the public to refrain from visiting its offices, and to instead make use of its drive-through facilities for vehicle licence renewals, or to call in for queries.
Filemon said all payments should still be made over the counter at Natis offices, and people should be wary of scams.
“Please beware of fraudsters at all times. The Roads Authority will never call you on your cellular phone and request payments via eWallet, EasyWallet or BlueWallet,” she said.
She asked Natis clients to make use of credit and debit card facilities and not cash when making payments.
