HEALTH UPDATE: Namibia has recorded a twelfth death related to Covid-19, health and social services minister Kalumbi Shangula said on Monday.
Shangula said a 49-year-old man who was in Windhoek Central Hospital for urgent surgery developed complications after undergoing an operation, and his coronavirus test results also came back positive. He added that the patient had a chronic condition, which was being ruled out as the cause of his death on Sunday, after his condition gradually deteriorated.
The country also recorded another 112 confirmed novel coronavirus infections on Monday, bringing Namibia’s confirmed cases to 2 406, with 2 207 active cases and 187 recoveries. Further recoveries are still being verified, Shangula said.
