Covid-19 update . . . Namibia has reported 81 new Covid-19 cases and four new recoveries.
This was announced by minister of health and social services Kalumbi Shangula on Sunday.
Oshakati reported the highest number of new cases with 58, Windhoek reported eight, Mariental six, and Outapi, Gobabis and Karasburg two each.
Aranos, Okahandja and Engela reported one new case each.
“Oshakati’s cases include 57 pupils, of whom 56 are from Iipumbu Senior Secondary School, who were tested through expanded targeted testing. One pupil is from Erundu Combined School,” Shangula said.
The cases at Mariental involve inmates from the Mariental Correctional Facility, who were all contacts of other cases and are asymptomatic.
Namibia now has 12 660 cases in total, with 10 779 recoveries and 133 deaths.
