Health update … Namibia has recorded 53 new coronavirus infections, another death linked to Covid-19 and 449 recoveries from the virus.
Health and social services minister Kalumbi Shangula, who said Windhoek and Rehoboth each reported 15 newly confirmed infections, announced this on Thursday.
Seven new infections were recorded at Keetmanshoop and also seven at Oshakati, three at Lüderitz and two at Okahandja.
One newly confirmed infection was recorded at Karasburg, Omaruru, Swakopmnund and Tsandi each.
The Khomas region reported 441 new recoveries, Erongo seven and Kunene one.
The latest death linked to Covid-19 is that of a 73-year-old man from Rehoboth. The patient was known to have comorbidities.
Namibia has recorded 13 345 novel coronavirus infections since the start of the global Covid-19 pandemic, 135 deaths linked to Covid-19 and 12 188 recoveries from the virus.
