HEALTH UPDATE: Namibia has recorded 63 new confirmed coronavirus infections, with 144 new recoveries from the virus and two more deaths, the Ministry of Health and Social Services’ executive director, Ben Nangombe, said on Wednesday.
Windhoek has recorded 44 new coronavirus infections, Rundu five and Rehoboth three, while Walvis Bay, Swakopmund and Tsumeb recorded two each. Oshakati, Otjiwarongo, Omaruru, Gobabis and Mariental recorded one new infection each.
The two deaths are from Windhoek and Swakopmund, involving a 61-year-old and a 28-year-old respectively. Meanwhile, Windhoek recorded 103 recoveries from the virus, Omusati 12, Kunene 10, //Kharas nine, Erongo eight and Omaheke two.
Namibia has now recorded 9 964 confirmed coronavirus cases and 7 502 recoveries, with 2 354 currently active cases and 108 deaths.
