The annual Nama Cultural Festival has been postponed for a year. The event was scheduled to take place from 21 to 24 May.
The festival organising committee chairperson, David Eigub, in a press statement issued yesterday announced that this year’s event will be cancelled and postponed to May 2021 due to the global outbreak of the novel coronavirus and the Covid-19 pandemic.
“As organisers of one of the biggest cultural events in southern Africa we cannot understate the importance of ensuring full compliance with the precautionary measures put in place by the Namibian government and the Namibian health authorities to mitigate this deadly virus,” said Eigub.
