Former mayor of Khorixas, Elizabeth Geises (55), and her family are in self-quarantine.

Geises
said she, two children and two grandchildren have self-quarantined at
their house, after it emerged a visitor from Walvis Bay was alerted to
the nearest health facility. “This after someone who visited a shop (at
Walvis Bay), that the visitor also visited, tested positive for
Covid-19,” Geises said.
“Our temperature is taken daily, and it’s fine,” the former mayor said.
The Namibian learnt that the visitor is quarantined at a local lodge at the northwestern town.
Geises said she and her family were tested for Covid-19 and are awaiting the results.
She has served on the Khorixas Town Council from 2018 to April this year when she was removed.
Geises
said she and her family are not presenting with symptoms. The Khorixas
community was advised by Geises to take Covid-19 seriously and to follow
regulations.
“You do not know who has been in contact with you. If you have any symptoms, please contact the hospital,” she said.
