Itula determined to remove EVMs

INDEPENDENT presidential candidate Panduleni Itula says he will go a step further to ensure that the disputed electronic voting machines are not used in the upcoming presidential and National Assembly elections.

He said recent reports of missing voting machines that have caused a widespread public outcry have proven that EVMs cannot be trusted, and should not be used in the national elections next month.

Venaani calls on ECN leaders to resign

POPULAR Democratic Movement (PDM) leader McHenry Venaani has branded those at the helm of the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) liars and said they can no longer be entrusted with overseeing a credible election.

Venaani call a media conference in the capital on Thursday, convened to place on record PDM’s dissatisfaction around inconsistent information surfacing around electronic voting machines (EVMs) which went missing while under the care of the ruling Swapo Party.

Swapo has said the EVMs fell off a trailer while being transported to Outapi for the Swapo Party Elders Council congress in 2017.

Venaani wants ECN leaders to apologise and resign

POPULAR Democratic Movement (PDM) leader McHenry Venaani has branded the officials at the helm of the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) as liars and charged they can no longer be entrusted with overseeing a credible election.

Venaani called for the officials’ immediate resignation at a media conference in Windhoek on Thursday. The media briefing was convened to place on record the PDM’s dissatisfaction about inconsistent information surfacing around electronic voting machines (EVMs) which went missing while under the care of the ruling Swapo Party.
