THE special voting underway in the //Kharas region is said to be running smoothly.

This was said by the Election Commission of Namibia (ECN)’s //Kharas regional coordinator, Augustines Ucham, this morning.

He said all voting stations across the region were opened on time and “everything is going well so far, there are no incidents of violence or intimidation reported.”

He described the turnout of special voters at the 14 special polling stations across the region as “good”.

“We are happy with the turnout of voters, especially in urban areas,” Ucham said.

The special voting is catering for thousands of seagoing personnel, as well as Namibian Defence Force (NDF) members and police officers who will be deployed at polling stations during the national presidential and National Assembly elections on 27 November.
