THE Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) leader, McHenry Venaani, has promised to make agriculture a cornerstone of the Zambezi region when elected into power, he said this during the party’s star rally held at Katima Mulilo yesterday.
“Our government is going to spend money in [the] Zambezi [region] to make sure that young people become farmers using new technologies and farming methods of aquaponics and hydroponics,” Venaani said.
He said Zambezi is the region with the most water resources, both underground and perennial of the Zambezi River, but is one of the poorest regions in Namibia.
The official opposition leader said an irrigation scheme shall be created in Zambezi “to make sure that agriculture becomes the cornerstone of the region and Zambezi shall feed the people of Namibia.”
