Swanu leader Tangeni Iijambo says small political parties in Namibia find it difficult to meet the electorate because the country’s system favours rich, powerful political organisations.

He made these remarks during a Swanu electioneering meeting attended by some 200 supporters at Oshakati in the Oshana region on Saturday.

“In itself, it is most unfortunate and unfair,” stated Iijambo, referring to parties receiving more money the more seats it gets in parliament.

He said the system is “unlevel and deliberately designed to disadvantage the poor.”
