Namibia has recorded 41 new Covid-19 cases, 62 recoveries and one death, Ministry of Health and Social Services executive director Ben Nangombe said on Wednesday.
The cases are from Windhoek with 22, Oshakati 7, Onandjokwe and Rundu four each with Rehoboth, Walvis Bay, Gobabis and Keetmanshoop one each.
“We have been observing that the majority of confirmed cases reported from Windhoek are mainly coming from densely populated areas such as Khomasdal, Otjomuise, Katutura among others.
“Although some regions reported few cases, this should not make us believe that Covid-19 is over, not as yet. We strongly encourage compliance with the preventive measures at all times,” Nangombe said.
The 62 recoveries were recorded in the Khomas region with 22, Erongo 16, Hardap 10, //Kharas nine, Zambezi three and Oshikoto two.
Meanwhile, the death was recorded at Oshakati, and it is of a 51-year-old man who had underlying health conditions.
Namibia now has 11 714 confirmed cases, 9 673 recoveries, with 1 915 active cases and 126 deaths.
