NAMIBIA has recorded 136 novel coronavirus infections, with 249 recoveries, health and social services minister Kalumbi Shangula said on Saturday

Meanwhile, 224 people are hospitalised and 36 are in the intensive care unit.

According to the minister, the country is reporting low figures compared to the past days because some of the laboratories did not send the results on time.

“The situation may change drastically tomorrow. The Khomas region contributes 32% of all confirmed cases, sporadically distributed across different parts of Windhoek,” he added.

Total confirmed cases: 21 398
Recoveries: 17 851
Active cases: 3 357
Deaths: 187
