MINISTER of Health and Social Services Kalumbi Shangula on Wednesday afternoon announced a new Covid-19 related death involving a 44-year-old woman from Walvis Bay. This brings the total death toll to nine.
Meanwhile, the country has recorded 69 new Covid-19 cases from 527 samples tested in the past 24 hours.
Walvis Bay has the bulk of the cases at 57, Swakopmund has one, Usakos one, Windhoek eight, Engela one and Mariental one.
Namibia has a total of 1 986 positive cases, 1 873 of which are active cases.
According to the minster, 38 of the cases are males and 31 females, with the ages ranging from six to 77 years.
“Contact tracing has been initiated,” Shangula said.
