NAMIBIA has recorded 88 new coronavirus infections, 11 new recoveries and one death, health and social services minister Kalumbi Shangula said on Monday.
Onandjokwe reported the most cases with 38, followed by Windhoek with 24, Rundu with 11, seven at Oshakati, three at Swakopmund, two at Keetmanshoop, and one each at Okahao, Okahandja and Gobabis.
All of the positive results received from Onandjokwe are again from the secondary school where a number of pupils tested positive previously.
In the Rundu district, all of the new confirmed cases were detected in police holding cells.
In terms of recoveries, Khomas recorded five, //Kharas three and the Ohangwena, Omaheke and Hardap regions one each.
The death is of a 54-year-old woman from Windhoek with known, multiple co-morbidities.
The country has so far recorded 11 121 confirmed coronavirus infections, 8 787 recoveries from the virus and 121 deaths linked to Covid-19, and still has 2 213 active infections.
