Namibia has recorded 129 new confirmed coronavirus infections, 262 recoveries and no new fatalities linked to Covid-19.
This was announced by health minister Kalumbi Shangula on Friday afternoon.
Of the new cases, 67 are female and 62 male, with the youngest two months old and the oldest 73 years of age.
Windhoek recorded 67 new confirmed cases, Mariental 15, Rehoboth 12, Oshakati and Okahandja six each, Walvis Bay five, Keetmanshoop three, Katima Mulilo, Omuthiya, Tsumeb, Omaruru, Gobabis and Swakopmund two each, and Grootfontein, Otjiwarongo and Lüderitz one each.
The new recoveries are distributed as follows: Oshana 87, Erongo 65, Khomas 58, Hardap 32, Ohangwena 19 and Omusati one.
The country’s active novel coronavirus infections now stand at 2 152. Of the active cases, 14 are in a severe to critical condition.
Namibia has recorded 10 207 confirmed novel coronavirus infections since the start of the pandemic, 7 947 recoveries and 108 deaths linked to Covid-19.
