Namibia has recorded 11 deaths linked to the novel coronavirus, 162 new Covid-19 cases, and 263 recoveries, health and social services minister Kalumbi Shangula said on Tuesday.
In the last 24 hours, 247 Covid-19 vaccine doses were administered, of which 228 in Khomas and 19 in Erongo region.
Cumulatively, a total of 3 122 vaccine doses have been administered since the roll-out.
The minister said among the confirmed cases, 122 people are hospitalised, and 53 of them are in intensive care.
“In recent days, we have observed more severe cases, as reflected by the number of people admitted in critical care,” a worried Shangula warned.
The 162 new infections include four teachers, five students and two health care workers also tested positive to Covid-19 infection.
