NAMIBIA has recorded five deaths linked to the novel coronavirus, 235 new Covid-19 cases, and 62 recoveries, health and social services minister Kalumbi Shangula said on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the total number of people vaccinated stands at 1 857, of which 356 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
The minister said among the confirmed cases, 152 people are hospitalised, 33 of them in the intensive care unit.
Shangula warned people avoid unnecessary travel and gatherings.
“As we are approaching the Easter holidays, we urge all citizens to exercise extreme caution to prevent infection and further spread of the Covid-19 in our communities,” he said.
