NAMIBIA has recorded 36 new Covid-19 cases, health and social services minister Kalumbi Shangula said on Wednesday afternoon.

He added that all the new cases are Namibians and 28 are from Walvis Bay, four from Swakopmund, three from Windhoek and one from Lüderitz.

The youngest case is a 20-day-old baby and the oldest is 54 years old.

According to the minister, contact tracing is ongoing. He said there are 12 patients at Walvis Bay who are critically ill and in need of oxygen.

“On the bright side, we have recorded seven new recoveries,” he said.

Namibia now has 1 402 confirmed cases, with 1 331 active cases, and 64 recoveries.
