NAMIBIA has recorded another seven deaths linked to Covid-19, 224 new coronavirus infections and 44 recoveries from the virus over the past day, health and social services minister Kalumbi Shangula said on Monday.
Shangula also said 187 people are hospitalised with Covid-19 currently, with 25 of the patients in intensive care units.
The 224 people with newly confirmed novel coronavirus infections include 78 school pupils, nine healthcare workers, eight teachers and nine students Shangula said.
Namibia’s seven most recent deaths linked to Covid-19 include a 44-year-old man who died at Otjiwarongo and did not have comorbidities, and a 90-year-old woman who died at Oshakati and also did not have comorbidities.
