NAMIBIA has recorded 176 new Covid-19 infections, 154 recoveries and two deaths linked to the virus, minister of health and social services Kalumbi Shangula said on Monday.
The recovery rate for Namibia currently stands at 93%.
Shangula said 158 people are hospitalised with Covid-19 currently, with 26 of these patients in intensive care units.
The 176 new cases include 41 pupils, 20 inmates from the Omaruru Correctional Facility, and eight healthcare workers from different health facilities.
Since Friday 50 Namibians have been vaccinated against Covid-19, comprising 30 from the Khomas region and 20 from the Erongo region.
Shangula said no adverse event has been reported thus far.
