Namibia has recorded 109 new coronavirus infections, five deaths linked to Covid-19 and 204 recoveries from the virus, health and social services minister Kalumbi Shangula said on Saturday.
Shangula also said 241 people infected with the novel coronavirus are hospitalised, with 39 of those being treated in intensive care units.
Of the newly confirmed cases, 35 (32%) are contacts to confirmed cases and 73 (67%) are symptomatic.
“Today we are reporting low figures compared to the past days as some laboratories did not send the results. The figures may be extremely different tomorrow,” Shangula cautioned.
Namibia’s overall novel coronavirus figures are now as follows.
Confirmed cases: 24 654
Recoveries: 20 931
Active cases: 3 507
