Namibia has reported the highest number ever recorded in 24 hours with 683 novel coronavirus infections recorded on Friday. Meanwhile, the country reported 404 recoveries, health minister Kalumbi Shangula said.

According to the minister, Khomas region contributed 57% of all confirmed cases, sporadically distributed across all suburbs in Windhoek.

Of the confirmed cases, 224 are hospitalised and 36 are in the intensive care unit.
