Namibia has reported 330 new Covid-19 infections on Tuesday and one more death.

The country has also recorded 276 recoveries, minister of health and social services Kalumbi Shangula said.

“The Khomas region contributes 69% to the total from different institutions. Twelve cases involve pupils from different schools, six are healthcare workers and five are teachers from different schools,” he said.

A total of 155 of the new cases are contacts of confirmed cases, and 212 are symptomatic.

“We would like to inform the public that laboratories are experiencing a backlog in tests due to the increased demand for testing. Consequently, the results turnaround time has increased. We ask the public to bear with us as the team is working hard to ensure the results are released on time,” Shangula said.
