NAMIBIA has recorded 44 new Covid-19 cases and 94 recoveries.
This was announced on Thursday afternoon by deputy health minister Ester Muinjangue.
The new cases are 24 males and 20 females, with the youngest being three months and the oldest 66 years.
Windhoek recorded 17 new cases, Oshakati 13, Rehoboth six, Walvis Bay and Engela two each, Onandjokwe, Omuthiya, Karasburg and Lüderitz one each.
Muinjangue said five of the Windhoek cases are pupils from three different schools while 13 from Oshakati are from the correctional facility and schools.
She advised the public to continue adhering to the preventative measures, warning that Covid-19 is still active among the population.
Oshikoto recorded 77 new recoveries, Khomas 11, Ohangwena five and Omusati one.
The total number of active cases stands at 1 518, of these four are in severe to critical condition.
Namibia now has 13 090 cases, 11 438 recoveries and 133 deaths.
