NAMIBIA has recorded 16 new Covid-19 cases and 40 recoveries. This was announced on Wednesday afternoon by deputy health minister Ester Muinjangue.

The new cases are nine females and seven males, the youngest being eight months old and the oldest 69 years.

Windhoek recorded 12 new cases and Karasburg four.

Muinjangue said Windhoek cases include four pupils from Gammams Primary School.

Hardap recorded 15 recoveries, Otjozondjupa 14, Khomas seven and Erongo four.

The total number of active cases now stands at 1 568. Of the active cases, four are in severe to critical condition.

Namibia now has 13 046 confirmed cases, 11 344 recoveries and 133 deaths.
