The country has recorded 49 new Covid-19 cases and 28 recoveries. This was announced this afternoon by health ministry executive director Ben Nangombe.
Of these new cases, 31 are males and 18 females. The youngest is 17 years old and the oldest 81-years-old.
Oshakati recorded 26 new cases, Windhoek 16, Rehoboth two, and Keetmanshoop, Outapi, Rundu, Onandjokwe and Engela one each.
Nangombe said the confirmed cases from Oshakati district include 19 inmates from Oluno Correctional Facility and three pupils from Iipumbu Senior Secondary School.
Khomas recorded 15 recoveries, Oshana nine, Omaheke and Omusati two each.
The total number of active cases now stands at 1 774. Of the active cases, five are in severe condition.
Namibia now has 12 907 confirmed cases, 11 000 recoveries and 133 deaths.
