NAMIBIA has recorded eleven new coronavirus infections and 207 recoveries from the virus, health and social services minister Kalumbi Shangula said on Wednesday.

Of the new infections, seven are from Windhoek and two from Lüderitz, while Mariental and Walvis Bay reported one each.

The country has now reached the 12 000 mark in the total number of confirmed novel coronavirus infections.

Eighty-four of the latest recoveries are from the Hardap region, 76 from Khomas, 38 from Otjozondjupa, seven from Erongo, and one each from the Oshana and Omaheke regions.

The country has so far recorded 12 000 confirmed novel coronavirus infections, 10 120 recoveries from the virus and 129 deaths linked to Covid-19, and has 1 751 active infections with the virus.
