Namibia has recorded another two deaths linked to Covid-19, 108 new coronavirus infections and 69 recoveries of people who contracted the virus, health and social services minister Kalumbi Shangula said on Thursday.
The two persons who died after contracting the virus are men aged 66 and 60, respectively, who died in Windhoek and at Walvis Bay, Shangula announced.
Their deaths bring the country’s death toll linked to Covid-19 to 123.
Thirty-four of the new coronavirus infections recorded on Thursday are from Windhoek, with Eenhana recording 25 confirmed infections, Rundu 17, Oshakati 10, Onandjokwe seven, Okahandja five, Karasburg four, Mariental three and Grootfontein, Otjiwarongo and Rehoboth one each.
Of the new recoveries, 24 are from the Khomas region, 20 from Ohangwena, 11 from Hardap, eight in Oshana and six in //Kharas 6.
Namibia has so far recorded 11 373 confirmed novel coronavirus infections, 9 083 recoveries, and currently still has 2 167 active infections.
