Namibia has recorded 191 confirmed Covid-19 cases and 32 new recoveries. There were no deaths recorded.
This was announced this evening by the health ministry’s executive director Ben Nangombe. He said of the confirmed cases, 99 are male and 92 are female. The youngest is one and the oldest is 92 years old.
Windhoek recorded 87, Keetmanshoop 17, Walvis Bay 14, Rundu 13, Mariental 9, Tsumeb 7, Usakos 6, Oshakati 5, Gobabis 4, three each from Omaruru, Rehoboth, Otjiwarongo, Okahandja and Engela, two each from Karasburg, Swakopmund, Okakarara, Oshikuku and Outapi, and one each from Lüderitz, Onandjokwe, Opuwo and Katima Mulilo.
Nangombe said in addition to the five regions (Erongo, Khomas, Karas, Hardap and Oshana), where the majority of cases continue to be reported, they have observed a rapid increase in the number of cases from other four regions recently such as Ohangwena, Otjozondjupa, Oshikoto and Zambezi.
The executive director said the 32 new recoveries are from Khomas (24) and Omusati 8.
The total number of active cases now stands at 4 784. Of the active cases, 16 cases are in severe to critical conditions.
Namibia now has 8 514 confirmed cases, 3 643 and 87 deaths.
