Health and social services minister Kalumbi Shangula announced 884 newly confirmed novel coronavirus infections in Namibia and another two deaths linked to Covid-19 on Sunday evening.
A one-month-old baby who tested positive for the novel coronavirus is included among the newly confirmed infections.
One of the deaths and 292 of the newly confirmed infections were recorded in Windhoek, and 103 infections were recorded at Rehoboth.
Out of the 2 468 novel coronavirus test results received over the past 24 hours, 884 were positive, which is a positivity ratio of 36%, Shangula stated.
The country’s hospitals now have 374 patients with Covid-19 admitted for treatment, with 61 patients with the illness in intensive care units (ICUs) and 25 in high-care beds.
The country has recorded 6 382 newly confirmed coronavirus infections and 83 deaths linked to Covid-19 over the past week.
